adidas Consortium Energy Boost x Concepts "Shiatsu"
The Boston-based, internationally-renowned sneaker emporium Concepts presents its take on the first adidas model to have featured BOOST technology, the Energy Boost.
This irreverent new interpretation alludes to both classic sporting colorways and the infamous Chinatown massage parlors of Concepts’ hometown.
adidas Energy Boost was the first model to feature BOOST technology. With BOOST’s innovative use of micro-EVA cells to absorb and recycle impact, it has been at the forefront of a revolution in adidas’ range of running shoes for half a decade now. The TechFit uppers mirror the pioneering technology in the sole, offering precision-engineered support and flexibility in equal measure.

A fitting celebration of the Energy Boost, a shoe designed with long-distance runners in mind, comes from Boston’s Concepts. Just as their hometown marathon is revered by runners around the globe, so too is the Concepts store among sneaker-heads from all over the world. At first glance, their take on the Energy Boost draws on the sporting heritage of adidas’ iconic tennis shoes, the brilliant white base and green accenting calling to mind the famous adidas Stan Smith model in its original colorway. The athletics club mood is further enhanced by the use of a towelling-effect Primeknit. As with many of Concepts’ shoe collaborations however, the shoe is also a tribute to their own local, New England heritage. For this Energy Boost, that means subtle nods to the infamous massage parlours found in Boston’s Chinatown – places that one might also associate with towelling. The sporting green accents, most noticeable on the three stripes and marbled outsole, are rendered in an opulent jade tone often found decorating the parlors. It is a further blurring between pristine sports performance and gritty urban experience that results in a deceptively intriguing lifestyle version of the Energy Boost.
The adidas Consortium Energy Boost x Concepts will launch on Saturday 28th of July at limitEDitions Barcelona.
Diadora Heritage up with Italian brand LC23 for another capsule collection. Things turn Cosmic as LC23 look to Saturn & the Earth for inspiration.
First up is the "Saturno" constructed from a rich and colourful blend of cord, leather and neoprene. A bold and cosmic array of colours come together in harmony to colour block the upper. Which is balanced on Didadora's signature neutral sole unit.
The "Terra" uses a bold pony hair like material application finished in luscious green to reflect the grass of the earth on the midsection. Contrasted with a leather branding stripe finished in a water blue. Further earth themed tones are supplied via a sandy pink suede heel wrap, brown leather heel tab and navy suede toebox. A white leather perforated vamp provides contrast and sets off the upper.
Both the "Saturno" & the "Terra" Diadora N9000 x LC23 will launch on Friday 27th of July at limitEDitions Barcelona.

ADIDAS CONSORTIUM X MITA ‘CAGES AND COORDINATES’
LAUNCH 14TH JULY
For their first collaboration since 2016, adidas Consortium and Japanese sneaker legends Mita join forces on two new footwear styles. Each shoe is inspired by the eye-catching interiors of the Mita store and its Tokyo surroundings.
One of the most memorable collaborations from the 2016 adidas Consortium ‘World Tour’ saw the Tokyo-based retailers Mita breathing new life into a rugged 90s style, the SeeULater hiking shoe. Their latest team-up sees Mita applying their well-honed eye to one of the most enduringly iconic sneakers from the adidas stable, alongside anew take on a future-classic. This time, rather than looking to the great outdoors for inspiration, Mita and adidas Consortium have focused on the details and surrounding streets that have made the Mita store a must-visit destination for sneakerheads.
The NMD TS1 PKI is an evolved take on one of adidas’ most contemporary styles. Featuring primeknit uppers, BOOST soles and a pull tab lacing system/heel tab combination, the sneakers are perfectly suited to the hustle and bustle of contemporary Tokyo. The uppers also feature a tonal mesh pattern that calls to mind the wire cages famously used to display each footwear style sold within Mita.

The Mita iteration of the Stan Smith arrives in a black and white colourway, rendered in premium leather uppers with a contrast sole. A host of blacked-out tonal additions, including heel tabs and metal side-zips, are offset by white text that runs downs the entire length of the tongue and across the heel. For the uninitiated, the text might look like an arbitrary sequence of numbers and letters – in actuality, they are the geographic coordinates for both the Mita store in Tokyo and the adidas headquarters in Germany.
