NIKE QUICKSTRIKE AIR RIFT LAUNCH 27TH APRIL |
In 1996, Nike Running quietly made its first foray into footwear promoting natural motion with the introduction of a sneaker/sandal hybrid called the Nike Air Rift. Though not heavily advertised or marketed, the shoe’s unique split-toe design and stretch fit attracted an audience who saw beauty in its progressive and slightly odd package. Re-launched for summer 2015, the Air Rift’s idiosyncratic glory remains intact. A textile-engineered mesh upper that wicks moisture and allows for optimal ventilation augments the shoe’s distinctive style. The defining split-toe, in harmony with a flexible natural motion outsole, provides enhanced traction. Two Velcro closures on the heel and midfoot secure the foot with a customisable fit. |

Footpatrol x ASICS Tiger Gel Kayano Trainer 'Storm' Launch 18th April |
First released in 1993 the ASICS Tiger Gel Kayano Trainer, named for its designer - who is still a vital part of the ASICS Tiger design team - was seen as a shoe that started one of the most successful lines in the history of running shoes. It utilized the tech of the day - skeletal logo stripes for support, visible THETA GEL in the heel and porous P-GEL in the forefoot. The upper was mesh with Coolmax reinforced by synthetic suede. We wanted to take this specialized model and bring it up to date, while still echoing it's original features. Unlike their first Gel Kayano Trainer Footpatrol wanted to make the Storm stand out, taking their inspiration from vintage outdoor rain jackets which were seen in bright and bold colour schemes. Keeping the same aesthetics as their first Gel Kayano Trainer with using premium & luxurious materials, they wanted to keep the technical features of the sneaker and use the durable water resistant suede as the underlays. |

SNEAKERSNSTUFF X LE COQ SPORTIF FLASH “DUNDERKLUMPEN” LAUNCH 18TH APRIL |

Written by Beppe Wolgers and animated by Per Åhlin this classic movie from 1974 was the very first Swedish animated movie. Starring the mystic character Dunderklumpen who solves his loneliness by using his magic to bring toys to life. The only problem is that the toys belong to Camilla, the daughter of Beppe Wolgers, who is also starring in the movie. Beppe and his son Jens sets out to get Camilla’s toys back and you get to follow them through the Swedish midsummer night. As a kid growing up in the 70s it is impossible not to have heard or seen anything by Beppe Wolgers. And the values and punch line of many of the tv-shows and movies that he was involved in has probably helped set a standard of moral and values for an entire generation. The Sneakersnstuff x le coq sportif Flash ”Dunderklumpen” combines the vibrant colors of Dunderklumpen’s clothes, with the yellow flare of his hat. With the toebox in a smooth leather with perforated details that also comes back on the heel. A nice and smooth turquoise leather tipped of with a purple label where you will find the classic le coq label, and a play with the same logo and the SNS logo. You will also find a le coq sportif logo on the left heeltab alongside Sneakersnstuff printed on the right heeltab. |
