Hanon x ASICS Tiger GEL-Lyte III “Solstice”
Launch 28th November

Since ASICS Tiger's GEL-LYTE III and Hanon are celebrating their 25th Anniversaries, it is only fitting that these long time collaborators have come together to mark the occasion with a new take on the iconic sneaker.

The "Light Night" GEL-LYTE III is inspired by the longest and shortest days of the year, where the effects of these yearly changes are felt the strongest in northern countries like Scotland, where Hanon is based. The collaboration revisits the night skies and astronomical theme from past projects.

Hanon's northerly location and "the gloaming" – also known as twilight, the time before sunrise and after sunset, casts a rich blue hue over the night skies during the summer months. These vibrant shades are the inspiration behind the two-toned colourway of the "Light Night" GEL-LYTE III. The Celtic knot and flame pattern, an ancient symbol associate with the solstice and incorporated into the sneakers design, is also a nod to Hanon's rich Scottish roots.

INVINCIBLE x adidas Consortium Superstar 80v
Launch 21st November

Apart from the carefully curated selection of international brands, INVINCIBLE is well-known for its high-profile collaborations. Especially in the footwear segment the Taipei-based retailer has garnered international recognition. With this years’ spotlight on the Superstar, timing and context could not have been better for this first collaborative project as a Consortium partner. For their interpretation of one of adidas’ most iconic silhouettes, INVINCIBLE was offered carte blanche on the archetype of the Superstar, the 80v.

The design inspiration for their shoe can be traced to the style and aesthetics of the indigenous people of Taiwan. Traditional costumes often incorporate a variety of pastels but mainly shades of blue, white and red. These three colors also appear on the shoe in the form of a small row of beads around a fold down collar. A zig-zag patterned edge adds more emphasis to this particular element on the shoe which is a novelty and custom execution for this model. It is also the most characteristic attribute of INVINCIBLE’s re-engineered version of the Superstar. Slightly less visible, but significant nonetheless is the use of fish-skin on the tongue. It is another reference to the Taiwanese heritage, as this material is found on traditional armor used for ceremonial purposes and ritual fights. Further elements such as the embroidered three stripes but also the custom-designed pattern – a mix of tribal elements and logo references – on the insoles provide for an overall hand-crafted feel.

INVINCIBLE have delivered a highly conceptual design that furnishes the classic silhouette of the Superstar with a new, slightly exotic spirit. The Superstar 80v INVINCIBLE is an ambassador for the retailer’s creative enthusiasm as well as for Taiwan and its rich cultural heritage.

Titolo x Le Coq Sportif R1000 “Glacial Melt”
Launch 21st November

The Swiss Alps and its picturesque snow capped mountains might be Switzerland's most notable landmark, but its the turquoise, glacial lakes contained in its boundaries that serves as the inspiration and namesake for an upcoming collaboration between Titolo and Le Coq Sportif.

Dubbed the "Glacial Melt," the shoe is executed on the LCS R1000 and features a turquoise toe and grey body. The toe references the aforementioned lakes which gets its color from rock flour that reflecting in the water while the grey body is a nod to the rock and gravel that surrounds the landscape. Making use of premium, butter soft leathers, this crisp and clean collab has the potential to be a sleeper hit.

The combination of turquoise, gray and anthracite represents the Swiss alpine lakes. You’ll get this kind of natural setting directly printed on your insoles (see last picture). On the inner side of the foot, the “LCS” logo is replaced by a mountain flower. We guess that this is an Edelweiss, often used as the Switzerland’s emblem. Lastly, note that three sets of laces are provided, one grey flat type and two rope type with 3M.

HANON X PUMA ADVENTURER PACK
LAUNCH 21ST NOVEMBER

Hanon and Puma are proud to come together for the release of the Adventurer Pack

The Adventurer pack references to Hanon early beginnings in the 90’s when they would travel overseas to hunt out rare and vintage sneakers to sell through the store.
Hanon is focused on telling their backstory story through their collaborative editions of the XT2+ and XS850.

Hanon’s take on the two Puma retro runners has a deconstructed vibe, stripping the usual TPU panels for premium leather.

The Hanon edition XS850 takes shape in nubuck, trading between blue and grey. The design is meant to reference the Toft Brothers origins in the arena of skate culture, styling its standard Keep on Burnin’ flame logo with cross bones.

The Hanon crew have familial ties to the States and have used visits as an opportunity to hunt for kicks. The shop’s edition of the XT2+ is influenced by these past sneaker treks…

Adventurer edition of the XT2 is inspired by the early days travelling overseas, from the winter gloom in Scotland to the sunshine warmth of California. Executed in a lush pig suede application, the colours reference the stark contrast in weather whilst a ‘memories’ print is featured on the lining.

OVERKILL X ADIDAS CONSORTIUM EQUIPMENT RACING ’93 “TAXI”
LAUNCH FRIDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2015

OVERKILL has a long-standing history and very special relationship with the adidas Equipment. Back in 2010 the shop hosted an exhibition in celebration of the Equipment Support Runner’s 20th anniversary. The first re-issue, as well as many of the subsequent editions, turned out to be especially popular among OVERKILL’s loyal customer base. Thus, picking the Racing 93, another icon from the Equipment family, for their first collaborative project with adidas was an easy, an almost obvious choice.

The Racing 93 by itself is an eye-catching silhouette with an accentuated lacing system that acts as external stabilizer. Instead of blending it in subtly with the overall appearance of their model, OVERKILL emphasized this element even further. By setting it in black/reflective-grey they created a stark contrast to the shoe’s beige-colored nylon upper. This main tint is a direct reference to the standardized finish on German Taxis. As the preferred method of transportation they play an integral role in offering a comfortable commute through Berlin’s bustling nightlife, even more so during the colder months lying ahead.

Looking closer at the details such as the grey speckled sole, the red highlight on the heel and the yellow tag on the tongue, it becomes obvious that OVERKILL managed to deliver a complete picture for their homage: grey tarmac, red tail-light, and yellow Taxi sign on top. The finish is as premium and well-balanced as expected on this shoe. Soft black leather, another contrasting detail, is used for the liner while beige suede on toecap and heel as well as tonal laces round off this execution.

Undefeated x NikeLab “LA” Cortez SP
Launch Thursday 5th November 2015

Undefeated are as LA as they come and so is the first of their two upcoming collaborations with NikeLab. The Undefeated x NikeLab Cortez SP is a tribute to LA street culture with the blue in the colour way a definite nod to the LA Dodgers, with the “L” and “A” debossing on the heels highlighting that connect even further.

Using premium suede and high-grade nylon on the uppers, pebble leather and a custom leather footbed the Cortez SP is coupled with subtle detailing like the “Por Vida” (for life) on the laces, the “Undefeated” script on the metal dubres and the signature five-strike logo on the insole are just the kind of features you’d expect from a collaboration of this calibre.
